Abstract

This article analyses the use of text in a context of public art through a fragment of the projection Arno by Jenny Holzer. In this fragment, the words My skin are projected on a slope, lighting a part of it, establishing new relationships among its elements, introducing a new meaning, and showing the passing of time. Through the interpretation of this work and the connection with other related works of art, I propose a series of effects that help us understand the cultural complexity that operates on the territory. The effects analysed are de-contextualization, re-signification and the ephemeral. These effects allow us to perceive the reality from another perspective and to propose new ways to intervene in the space from a sensitive approach to the place.
