Cartografía del espacio vividolos croquis del Catastro de Ensenada y del Diccionario Geográfico de Tomás López desde el enfoque de la Geografía de la Percepción

Abstract

This article deals with the study of two documentary corpora of graphic nature: The plains of the municipal terms that appear in the General Answers of the Cove Cadastre and the sketches sent to the geographer Tomás López y Vargas Machuca by the low rural clergy that exercised its functions in the different localities of the Spanish geography. The theoretical and methodological approach with which we analize and interpret these sources comes from the Geography of Perception and Behaviour, since we consider these sketches as the graphic expression of the cognitive maps of the subjects who carried them out. Its study will allow us to deepen in the knowledge of the Spanish rural communities of the second half of the XVIII century from the analysis of the meanings and values that they give to the rural landscape as a whole, as well as the different elements that make it up.
