Resumen

Este artículo analiza la evolución histórica de Qatar desde la perspectiva teórica de Estado-base, en virtud de la instalación de Al Udeid, su importancia geoestratégica y las consecuencias nacionales para Qatar como posible Estado-base. En particular, el análisis se detiene en el estudio de la crisis del bloqueo a Qatar en 2017. La presencia en territorio qatarí de la base militar estadounidense de Al Udeid, no solo ha supuesto un elemento de seguridad e independencia para el país, sino también una clave geopolítica y geoestratégica para los Estados Unidos.
