Today we must recognize the legacy we have received as a result of a friendly relationship between the countryside and the city, in which we can perceived patrimonial values that have been clearly crystallized in urban centers of most of the fabrics of the urban Andalusian system. At a moment, in which the validity of the city is above other conceptual and practical considerations of the territory, it seems that there has been a misunderstanding of the support in which the settlements are located, without until now, havig evidence of a return. In the gestation of the cities of the last times, the urban planning and the culture of making ity have operated in autistic terms with the features of the place and the nature of the contextual space. The clear distinction that the urban planning instruments have made of urban and rural, has almost definitively broken with a positive symbiosis in the construction of the urban personality. The identity of cities, should not only have a look at the urban land and its extensions, but it also a reflexion should be made of the place where they have been built and possibly have been favored with a personality of their own. Therefore, the value of the rural should be brought to light in urban planning processes, but also to reveal a definition and recognition of the pieces that play an ambivalent role between urban and rural. All these pieces have been called geographic space. This work tries to construct the value of the geographic spaces of some medium-sized cities of the south of the province of Córdoba in a hybrid territory between countryside and sierra domains. It starts from the cultural construction of an area according to the different dimensions that the cultural landscape defines, providing a first scenario to which the city is not foreign. The change of scale occurs taking into account the character of the landscape of three medium-sized cities, intentionally placed in different places from which it is obtained an approximation to the pieces in transition between the urban and the rural by harboring part of the identity and personality of the city.
