Abstract

The present doctoral thesis studies scientifically my natural environment, concretely in the time of its golden age 1863-1931, and in the space called the Ría de Arousa and its region denominated Valle del Salnés, from the social and architectonic aspects. In order to carry out this study, apart from the bibliographical sources and the accounts of elderly people who lived close to this time period, which are innumerable, I have used a more novel method that consists of idealizing the system formed by the Ría de Arousa, Its society and its architectural reflection in that space. This idealization is useful to be able to approach this complex system, and I carry it out with what I call a CONCEPTUAL MODEL that idealizes that past reality that has a structure, in which the objects of knowledge are mainly three architectural manifestations, namely the expressions Architectural of the Elite of the moment. The objective is to KNOW, because these palatial architectures were created on the edge of the Ria, and how are these architectures. Conceptual modeling is carried out through two modes: One through the semiotic analysis and the other through its graphic analysis, of the palatial architectures of sea edge. As support for this conceptual model has been worked with unpublished graphic material, which has been manipulated by merging and giving a treatment that allows us to obtain new data, to be able to process them generating new knowledge to the subject under study. Taking into account the proximity in time has also been worked graphically with aerial orthophotos and foreshortening, the oldest of the Ría de Arousa 1945 and 1956, in order to be able to recreate and put in visual value the architectures of the period under study, being easier Their understanding by the reader of this work By synthesizing and processing the obtained data, it is possible to identify the Patrimonial values that allow framing the concept of Turistic-cultural scope, in the search to urge to elaborate a sustainable project with the objectives of preserving the Heritage and promoting Cultural Tourism, relying on studies Historical, graphic and semiotic to obtain an identification and classification of the patrimonial values that allow to redefine and to put in value that CULTURAL TOURISTIC SPACE, denominated LA RIA DE AROUSA.
