Abstract

Abstract In this thesis we analize the information -and- communication technologys (ICT) competencies shown by professors who are responsible of teachers training in high level system and we also analize the real use of ICT in their contexts. Several aspects were addressed al the light of different actors related to the teacher's role today. The ICT were approached from the standpoint of its conceptualization, presence and main features bearing in mind the feasibility of its integration into the educational process. This study describes the context in which they are developed and the actors involved in the process. Our method is based on cuantitative approach and we have used a questionnaire for universitary teachers in education field. The principal outstanding outputs are related with the determination of the access, frequency of usage, availability, competencies and practical application of ICT carried out by professors on their educational practices as well as their levels of motivation and perception of their use in terms of efficiency. This research is the first in the country, so it opens this field of research in Dominican Republic and it can be useful to define national plans for future training.
