Abstract

The ESHE teaching paradigm emphasizes a model of teaching centered in thestudent’s work and learning, through the development of general and specificcompetencies. Our researching objective is to analyze –in the Faculty of Science ofEducation, University of Huelva- the students’ view and opinion about transversalcompetencies and their valuation and acquisition in the University. It was apply aquestionnaire based in Tuning model. The results show that the students value as themost important competencies the following ones: motivation for work, organization andplan, problem solving, the capacity of taking decisions, the capacity of learn, how to putthe theory in practice and how to adapt in front of new situations. They say that theyhave developed along their career the competencies of be responsible, teamwork,motivation for work and to reach objectives; oral and written communication and theyare concern for quality. They think they learn these competencies in theory and practiceclasses. We would need a double revision: in one hand, to extend the didactic placeswhere implement the competencies, and in the other hand, to acquire more interpersonalcompetencies
