Resumen

La literatura académica entiende, de forma consensuada, que la participación política debe encontrarse en el centro de la democracia. Pero, en torno al significado del concepto en sí de participación política, aparecen disensos. Si al debate sobre el significado de la participación y las implicaciones posibles de este debate le sumamos como protagonistas a los jóvenes, un grupo considerado especialmente apático y desafecto desde la literatura tradicional, los argumentos se hacen aún más diversos. Es por ello que se hace necesario profundizar en las ideas, creencias y actitudes de nuestros jóvenes, sobre todo, en el conocimiento e interés que presentan por la política. En este trabajo contribuimos al conocimiento sobre la juventud y la participación política centrándonos en cómo es la socialización de los jóvenes en la universidad, qué conocen, qué desconocen y qué les impacta tras acercar la política a las aulas.
