Abstract

The study of the touristic networks implemented in a territory makes it possible toanalyse the relationships established between public and private agents. It is alsopossible to assess the level of participation of the tourism resources and productsbelonging to the territories. In addition, it is possible to assess the level of integrationof tourism resources and products belonging to the territories. TouristicNetworks become strategic tools for sustainable tourism development in emergingdestinations as well as in consolidated destinations in rural and urban areas.Based on this argument, the purpose of this study is to identify the touristicnetworks operating in Cordoba province (Spain) and to learn about their evolution.Also, good practices and lessons learned in existing case studies will be identifiedthrough a benchmarking analysis that will facilitate the transfer of knowledge forits application in the management of tourism resources, products and services inthe Cordoba territory.Based on this argument, the aim of this study is to identifythe touristic networks operating in the province of Cordoba (Spain) and to learnabout their evolution. Also, to identify good practices in case studies by means of abenchmarking analysis that facilitates the transfer of knowledge for its applicationin the territory.The results are intended to be used for future research to identify the managementmodels for possible actions in the design, management and planning oftourism networks, seeking the optimization of the human, territorial and economicresources available and, ultimately, the sustainability and reactivation of thetourism sector in the province of Cordoba.
