Resumen

The development of new strategic antimicrobial therapeutic approaches has become an urgent need. This strategy is a key in the fight against multi drug-resistant (MDR) bacteria. Ourlab is working in an European Project (EuP) regarding this objective. To this end, seven chemicalcompounds have been selected among the initial 2500, due to their antibacterial activity. Here, we aimed to analyse the antibacterial activity of the compound SPO-1 against Acinetobacterbaumannii, Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae. This compound showed this activity inall 3 strains, as well as provoking alterations in bacterial membranes, giving us a new researchfield to study in the future.
