The war in Ukraine has boosted the popularity of Yvgeny Prigozhin, founder and leader of the Wagner group. This oligarch, closely connected – at least until the uprising that took place in June – with the Kremlin, is regarded as an “entrepreneur of influence” due to his intricate network of gray zone tools, with Wagner being one of them. His prominence during the war, particularly in the Russian winter offensive, led him to make a series of decisions culminating in the “march for freedom”, which unsettled nearly the entire world. A crisis that would eventually end two months later with Prigozhin’s death.
