Abstract

In this paper we tackle a synthesis of data on Andalusian painted baseboards documented in Malaqa, carrying out a multidisciplinary analysis of their distribution, chronology, decorative motifs and execu- tion techniques. Starting from a review of the progressive deterioration of the baseboards of the «Barrio de casas» in the Alcazaba of Malaga, a methodological proposal for the future is advanced that results in a more precise knowledge and description of the execution techniques during the archaeological research process. To this end, we have tried to gather in a single text the references to these findings and their study that appeared in a scattered bibliography.
