Abstract

In this work the author presents a series of reflections on certain aspects regarding the institution of arbitration. Firstly, it analyses the importance of the principle of party autonomy and justice as values of arbitration. Then, arbitration is depicted as one of the instruments that enable access to justice. Finally, it adresses the rules of procedure in arbitration, focusing on the duty to provide reasoned arbitral awards and to comply with public policy.
