Abstract
The aim of this paper is to trace misogyny in the literary judgements passed on Italian women writers at the turn of the century in the literary criticism reviews written by some of the leading writers and critics, such as Benedetto.Croce, Luigi Capuana, Giuseppe Antonio Borgese, Giovanni Boine, Renato Serra and Alfredo Panzini. We will analyse some of the mechanisms of exclusion that this group of intellectuals apply to women writers, which constitute a set of strategies aimed at discrediting and denying their achievements.
