Abstract

The desire to transcend oneself spiritually, intellectually, timelessly, characteristic of the Renaissance, gave the world, Spain as well, Andalusia as well, Seville as well, great men of arms and letters, but in all this masculine world, the presence of men stands out. some lady, like Catalina de Ribera y Mendoza, a Renaissance lady with a fully contemporary mentality, granddaughter, daughter, wife of the Mayor of Andalusia, a great lady who tries to invest in spirituality and improve the condition of the weakest element in society, women, focusing on the most helpless and sick free women, but curable, never slaves. For them, he founded the Hospital de las Cinco Llagas de Sevilla in 1500 and laid the foundations of Social Work in Seville in the middle of 1500.
