Reconstruir la historia del islam a través del patrimonio. El legado post-andalusí en la Comunidad Valenciana

Abstract

Artistic demonstrations of islam in Iberian peninsula were kept after Christian conquests of al-Andalus territories. That artistic expresions, with different typologies, are linked to the islamicate culture and to the pervivence of that religion until 17th century too. Nevertheless, the islamicate material culture was transformed and was adapted to the new Christian time in late middle ages. From that islamic material culture of post-andalusi time –understanded like chronological concept, which defines the presence of islam when al-Andalus ceased to exist– we can still observe some paradigmatic examples in Valencian Region. These examples could become an interesting compendium of valencian mudejar and morisco heritage. At this writing some examples are covered. Some of them are located in rural contexts, and other are partially visible in some cities. The goal will be observe the continuity that offers the architectural islamic legacy in Valencian Region from andalusi era and specially in post-andalusi time. Of this last period are preserved a great heritage spaces that need, urgently, be valued.
