Zusammenfassung

There is evidence of the benefits provided by practicing physical activity (PA). However, the adult population, including university students, does not seem to have sufficient levels, this being a key element for an active and healthy lifestyle in the future. The objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between the self-perception of practicing physical activity and the reasons for practicing physical activity and the practice times during leisure in university students who are in the 3rd year of the degrees of Teaching in Early Childhood Education and Teaching in Primary education. 203 people enrolled in the subjects of Physical Education in Primary Education and Physical Education in Early Childhood Education of the Teaching degrees of the Faculty of Education of Zaragoza participated, of which 69 were students of the Teaching degree in Early Childhood Education (33.99%)and 134 were enrolled in the Primary Education Teaching degree (66.01%). A sampling error of plus/minus of 4.57% was obtained for the 95% confidence intervals assuming P=Q=0.5. 21.2% of the sample considered themselves very active, 69.5% moderately activeand 9.4% not very active. Significant differences were only found between the very active and not very active group in the variable time of vigorous physical activity at leisure. The reasons for practice with the highest scores were health prevention and fun. The self-assessment of the active lifestyle puts the focus on intense practice time. On the other hand, future teachers have reasons for practice close to the ethical and social values that they will later promote in their profession.
