Zusammenfassung
The silver fir, Abies alba Mill., is a key species in European mountain forest ecosystems, which, despite being one of the few conifers with an available reference genome, lacked high quality transcriptomic information. Here, we present a de novo transcriptome assembly of this species, obtained using data produced through short- and long-read sequencing techniques, from three different organs (leaves, stem and roots) subjected to eight different treatments (e. g. cold, heat, drought, darkness) in order to induce the expression of the greatest number of genes and obtain the most comprehensive representation of the silver fir's transcriptome possible. The final transcriptome obtained a value of completeness of 94.8% according to BUSCO, with 539,313 assembled transcripts, of which approximately 30% were functionally annotated. It constitutes the highest quality transcriptome available to date for A. alba, providing a valuable tool for further studies involving this species.
