Abstract

The object of study was the use of blogs in different university courses offered by the University of Extremadura under a socioconstructivist and research paradigm. The sample consisted of 136 students enroled in the 2008-2009 academic year at the University of Extremadura, Spain. Data were collected from comments posted by students to the various courses� blogs, group forum threads and comments sent by students to lecturers via e-mail. Results show that blogs are easy to use, an important technological resource for education, foster the active engagement of students and become an assessment tool of the practices carried out.
