Abstract

A cognitive distortion associated with an excessive sense of responsibility was described for obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD) and was defined as Thought-Action Fusion (TAF), which implies that thinking about doing something has the same consequences that really doing. Something similar has been observed in eating disorders (ED) and it has been described as Thought-Shape Fusion (TSF). TSF distortion comprises three components related to beliefs about the consequences of having thoughts about eating "forbidden" foods.
