Resumo

This paper shows the results of a survey of Spanish automotive suppliers on the moderating effect of networking in the relationship between the use of firm practices and the company's new product time and cost minimization abilities. Factor and regression analyses indicate that some firm practices explained the companies' perception differences in new product time and cost development minimization abilities over competitors. High-networking companies significantly used more intensively the NPD firm practices. Design-Manufacturing Interface and Cross-Functional Design positively explained the company's new product time and cost minimization abilities in the subsample of high-networking companies but not in the low-networking companies
