Abstract
During the last few years, workplace bullying has become an area of great interest and has encouraged research from different perspectives. From an organizational approach, this study analyzes the role of workplace climate in terms of support, rules, goals, innovation, and the role of organizational change with regard to the onset of bullying at work. A sample of 211 workers from public and private organizations participated in the study. The results show that both workplace climate and organizational change play a key role in the onset of workplace bullying. More specifically, it was found that either a support climate or a rule climate at work lowers the presence of bullying in the workplace, whereas both a goal workplace climate and the process of change at work seem to increase the risk of workplace bullying.
