Abstract

Nowadays, teachers are making multiple efforts in order to adapt contents and educational methodologies to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). Some actions are centred on training for skills, continuous assessment or active, autonomous and participative learning. Specifically, we considered the use of a training workshop to support the construction of knowledge in the classroom, hence supplying the implementation of theoretical contents. This has made it possible to transform an eminently theoretical subject into another one in which the students themselves are involved in the building of the contents through their personal experiences, by initiating research using the technique of the life history. This paper presents the process and the result of an experience undertaken by students of the Degree in Social Education from the University Pablo de Olavide (Seville, Spain) for two academic courses. The result shows a high consensus on the importance of integrating the use of the training workshop in the classroom.
