Abstract
Agriculture it has been traditionally connected to the cities, although this relationship broke thought the nineteenth century, in recent years has experimented a extraordinary revitalization. This paper analyzes relationships in a comparative way, the economic activity in urban farms and agricultural protection systems. The main objective is to demonstrate the relationships between business management, commercial aspects of Urban Agriculture,understoodinits multifunctional activity condition, and how is affectedby the urban planning and CAP decisions. The methodology is based on CANVAS Business Model and the quantification of the economic and social benefits. Questionnaires have beenelaborated by the authors and are part del of COST Action TD1106 Urban Agriculture Europe. Results demonstrate the multifunctional condition of urban agriculture, and also that urban agriculture can also behave like a real business.
