Abstract

ln this work we will reflect on the link between human rights understood as cultural processes and the concept of development from a critical paradigm. What is the meaning of the concept of development fom a critical paradigm of human rights? Our answer to th¡s question is based on the link that exists between the concept of development and human rights as cultural products. For this analysis we take as the main reference the work of Professor Joaquín Herrera linked to the critical theories of human rights. We then use authors who, from this paradigm, help us to understand what we are talking about when we talk about critical development, that is, the concept of development from the critical theories of human rights. We begin with the concept of post-development from the point of view of ProfessorArturo Escobar as an element that contextualizes a space for other ideas that break with hegemonic development, such as Buen vivir or Ecofeminismo, which we will briefly review through different authors such as Gudynas or Vandana Shiva, in order to be able to answer the key question. We conclude by exposing critical development as a human r¡ghts tool from a critical foundation to provide tools for territorial development and local governance from multiculturalism and different cultures
