Resumo
The church of the convent of Santa Clara in Carmona (Seville) expresses the symbiosis between architecture and painting from different periods. The nave, which is in Gothic-Mudejar style typical of the Late Middle Ages, was covered with a program which is ornamentally and ichnographically Baroque. The wall-painting displays a reticle that frames a series of painting on canvass with female saints and archangels on them. These paintings are linked to a Zurbaran-esque aesthetic; and in them, virtue is exalted as a guide for the Clarissa community.
