Résumé

The Sevillian altarpiece flourished during the last third of the XVII century while the first third of the XVIIIth witnessed a transition from the ¨Solomonic¨ model that was becoming stagnant as the new pilaster model for altarpieces of the 18th exploded with great strength. New reports from the Provincial Historical Archives, in the Notarial Protocols section, provide information on new works (although unfortunately not always conserved) by a wide range of artists from different levels, some not yet well-known.
