Abstract
The international impact of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is undeniable. This novel has been in fact translated into numerous languages. The first Spanish translation was published in 1924 but has been followed by many translations, re-editions and versions. Some translators employ different strategies and techniques while others use the same solutions previously employed by others. The way of translating expressions and structures whose meanings have changed since Austen used them is especially relevant. In this paper, it is my intention to analyze a selected group of terms and determine whether or not modern translations solve translation problems not solved by previous versions.
